Falcon Flash – June 4, 2012

Dear Fairview Community,

Tomorrow is our last day of school, for grades 1st through 6th grade.  It has been a wonderful school year at Fairview and we  have had many wonderful learning experiences this year.  Tomorrow, our students will be dismissed at 10:40 a.m..  Please make sure that arrangements have been made for your child to be picked-up from school or the bus stop at the appropriate time.

There are a few items I would like to remind parents about concerning next year.  The first item would be our supply lists.  All of our supply lists are posted on our school website and will be available all summer long for you to access.  The list can be located on the left-hand side under Recent Post.

I would also like to remind parents that class lists for 2012-2013 will be posted on our doors on August 15th at 1:00 p.m.  There is also a P.T.A. meeting that evening, so please feel free to join us for the first P.T.A. meeting of the new school year.  On August 20th, Fairview will host their Supply Drop-Off, this event is for students in 1st -6th grade.  Students will be able to drop-off their supplies, and meet their classroom teacher.  This event will take place at 3:00-4:30 p.m. in the classrooms, and in the gymnasium parents may also complete their P.T.A. membership for the new school year.

Finally, there will be a flyer coming home in your child’s report card about our Back To School Night.  This is an extremely important night for parents to attend, as we will review some school information at the meeting at 6:30 p.m., followed by classroom presentations where teachers will review the curriculum and classroom procedures.

I hope all of you have a wonderful and safe summer!  Please remember to read, read, and read!  We are still working on Read For The World Record, so students can log their minutes and play some fun reading activities on www.scholastic.com/summer.  See you in August!
