Celebrating Veterans at Fairview

During the month of November, Fairview School library will honor both past and present members of all branches of the United States military.

In past years, our students and staff have shared some wonderful photos, including historical photos such as a student’s grandfather landing in the Philippines next to General Douglas MacArthur! Also, a picture of Mrs. Kondras’ father – a highly decorated fighter pilot, awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the French Croix de Guerre (you can look that up in the library!)

If you would like to honor a family member who is a U.S. military veteran or an active duty service member, we will include them in a display in the library until Thanksgiving. Please bring a photos of your family members (alive or deceased) who served. Include information such as branch of service, when they served, rank, and any distinctions or interesting information. The more information you give, the more interesting the display! Include the student’s name and room number on the back of the photo so we can return it to you.

Please join us as we honor those men and women who keep our country safe!
