March 3– 7th is Respect Week! Respect Week celebrates inclusion of all people, regardless of ability, in our schools and communities. You can help celebrate inclusion by having your child participate in our spirit week. The poster below has the colors and disabilities celebrated each day.
Club Unify is a state-wide club that is part of Project UNIFY, a Special Olympics education and sports-based program that promotes respect through sports. Project UNIFY strives to build an inclusive environment among youth with and without disabilities, as well as empowering them to be leaders and agents for change. Club Unify’s purpose is to introduce students to Special Olympics and let them experience the fun of cheering for the athletes, all with a goal of helping them take the lead in building an atmosphere of respect and trust in schools and communities. Our club’s focus is respect and inclusion. We are learning about different disabilities and our club is looking forward to an end of the year field trip where we join up with all the clubs within the district for a Sports Day.
